Ariel Gallery

Ariel Gallery is located in an old weaver’s cottage in Water Street in the heart of the historic village of Lavenham.  Situated over two floors, there are a wealth of period features in this lovely old building.  We are established fine art dealers showing works by modern and contemporary artists, specialising in art by twentieth century British artists.  Our gallery inventory includes paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture.  All works are personally selected by us and we always stock a good collection of art.  We also exhibit at selected venues and Art Fairs throughout the country and abroad.  Over the last few years we are pleased to have curated exhibitions and developed art collections for both corporate and private collectors.

During the year, Ariel is busy presenting several exhibitions, showcasing the artists from our inventory, with a strong emphasis on the Great Bardfield group of artists which includes Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious and others.  We also show work by some international artists, including those from the Ecole de Paris.  We have shown Modern British artists such as Dame Elisabeth Frink and John Piper for over twenty years.  Contemporary artists, including those who have been influenced by the Pop artists of the 1960’s have also featured in our exhibitions and we offer a showing platform for favourite local artists and sculptors.  We have collaborated with No. 10 restaurant in Lavenham to offer exhibitions of sculpture in their garden.

We are a commercial gallery and so our main aim is to sell artworks to the local community and beyond.  However, our ethos is also to provide a series of exhibitions which stimulate and inspire our visitors to explore the world of art in a wider sense.  We offer the opportunity to own art by some of Britain’s most talented artists, but also aim to give a colourful taste of Modern and Contemporary Art in general and Modern British art more specifically, featuring artists whom we admire.  We hope that this may lead to further exploration of their work.   Local artists have been able to show with us and part of our focus is to encourage this now and in the future.

To receive catalogues and invitations to our events, we ask people to contact us.  All our exhibitions are shown online, where clients can view them at their leisure.  If clients are unable to visit the gallery in person, it is possible to purchase works securely online and we also offer free UK delivery.  The gallery accepts all payment cards.  We offer a large selection of art cards.
