Number Ten is a beautiful 15th Century House at the corner of Water and Lady Street, whether you want a glass of wine and a cheese board in front of the fire in the bar, or a coffee and a peruse of the daily papers, or a three course meal for ten people, with our passion for food and service, we believe you will not be disappointed.

Your hosts at Number Ten are Joanna Knight and Rod Benson.  We have the very basic aim of providing delicious home cooked food, serving excellent wine with a ready smile and can do attitude.

Both Rod and Jo are long term Lavenham residents having grown up in the village.

Rod is a very keen cook and works alongside our chefs, to ensure that the food produced from our small kitchen is tasty and affordable.

Jo is passionate about quality service and can mostly be found working in the bar and restaurant areas of Number Ten along with the enthusiastic front of house staff, affectionately known as “Team Ten”.

Number Ten’s menu changes every 6-8 weeks basis depending on seasonality and availability of local produce.  The restaurant is open from 12.00hrs – 14.30hrs for lunch and from 18.00hrs – 21.00hrs (excl. Sundays) for dinner.  Although the menu is small, there will always be a choice of a vegetarian, meat and fish starter and main course.  Daily specials are available and we aim to serve many of our main courses at very competitive prices. All of the food is locally sourced wherever possible and each dish is cooked to order.

On Sunday evenings they offer a Pizza and Pasta menu.  Why not try one of their authentic Italian, 12 inch thin crust pizzas, or a deliciously creamy and succulent pasta dish?  The kitchen opens every Sunday at 5.30pm.  Booking is recommended.

Number Ten Sunday lunches are very popular, with two choices of locally sourced meat.  All roast lunches are served with crispy roast potatoes, fresh vegetables, delicious gravy and home made Yorkshire puddings.

The intimate dining room seats 24 people, although this can be configured differently for private dinners.  There is also a secluded dining area known as John’s Snug (after our resident ghost), which seats  up to 12 people for dining, meetings or drinks.
