Grade II Listed Poppy Cottage is a ‘complete little home’…with everything you need for a comfortable self-catering stay – with period character, exposed beams, wood-burning stove, antique furniture and a touch of luxury.
It has two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, plus plenty of room for bikes and well-behaved dogs. It is equipped to a high standard, with everything you need for a relaxing holiday – including free Wi-Fi, and a high chair and travel cot for tiny guests – and benefits from off-road parking (including garage) and a lovely, sunny walled garden.
At first sight, Poppy Cottage’s age and importance are not obvious and it may appear to be ‘just another delightful timber-framed cottage’ in Lavenham. In fact, it is an unusually small early-15th Century ‘open hall’ house of considerable historic interest.
You will love the spectacular and sympathetically renovated architecture of the ancient timber-framed buildings of Lavenham – England’s best preserved medieval village – including many Grade I and II Listed buildings displaying wonky walls, sloping floors, quirky features and traditional construction features. If that was not enough, you can explore the tranquil rural surroundings of the Suffolk countryside and its other villages, all the way to the East Anglian coastline.
The cottage is available all year – for weekends (2 or 3 nights); mid-week short breaks (4 nights); weekly bookings (7, 10 or 14 nights); or even long-terms stays. Stays usually start on Friday, Saturday or Monday – but other arrangements may be possible (subject to availability). There are always discounts available (especially during off-peak times) for less than full occupancy, repeat bookings and last-minute bookings. As a guide, approximate prices are £25 to £50 per room/night (or £12 to £25 per person/night). Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
You won’t be disappointed…!
