The Great House is an award winning boutique hotel in the centre of historic village of Lavenham, it began as a restaurant in 1985 and has since gone on to become a nationally renowned eatery, known for its modern take on French cuisine and fantastic customer experience; it is one of only two 3 AA rosette restaurants in Suffolk.

Welcomed by general manager Thierry the team at The Great House take pride in their work and have a great rapport with guests, using their expertise to help you to choose the best wines to accompany your menu choices, getting to know your favourite table and suggesting new dishes they think you may like to try. With the open fire and crisp white table cloths it feels like warm and cosy luxury in cooler months, whilst in the height of summer the terrace becomes a great place to relax with a glass on French wine. Head chef Guilleme is young and inventive with his choice of dishes using local cuisine to create dishes with modern French flare. The menu is something which chances regularly at The Great House, reflecting the seasons and popular ingredients at the time whilst always showing originality.
